Epoxy floor is a kind of high-strength, wear-resistant and beautiful floor, which has the advantages of no seam, solid texture and so on. The construction technology of epoxy floor is not complicated, but some problems are often encountered, which affect the construction effect. The following is a summary of the more common eight major problems and solutions, for reference only.
1.The paint is relatively rough.
The surface of the newly painted paint is rough, usually caused by dirty epoxy paint or pollution of the surrounding environment. It is also possible that the paint is mixed with lacquer skin, which is not precipitated and filtered before use, or is stained with dust when the paint is not dry. In order to prevent the above problems, clean paint brushes and paint buckets must be used. Before using the old paint, be sure to filter it with filter paper or clean nylon stockings. In addition, the painted surface should be covered with a cover or cardboard when the paint is not dry to prevent it from getting dusty. If the paint is rough, after it is dry, polish it with dry and wet sandpaper, wipe it clean, and then brush the paint again. Pay special attention to the fact that the paint brush must be clean.
First of all, pierce the bubble with a sharp object, if there is water coming out, it means that moisture has infiltrated under or behind the paint layer, and as soon as it is exposed to the sun, the water will evaporate into steam, and the lacquer skin will be blistered at the top. At this point, first use a hot air spray gun to remove the blistering paint, let the wood dry naturally, then brush the primer, and finally re-paint the whole repair surface. If there is no water in the bubble, it may be wood grain cracking, there is a small amount of air, after the sun, the air expansion, lacquer skin on the bulge. In the face of this problem, first scrape off the blistering lacquer skin, and then fill the cracks with resin fillers, re-paint, or without fillers, directly apply microporous paint after scraping off the lacquer skin.
3.It is painted but has no luster.
There is no primer or primer and inner paint is not dry directly on the gloss will lead to a lack of gloss. Secondly, the poor quality of varnish is also a reason. The solution is to use dry-wet sandpaper to grind off the old paint, brush off the polished dust, wipe the surface with a clean wet cloth, and then repaint it after it is dry. It is also important to pay special attention to the fact that when painted in a very low temperature environment, the paint film may lose its luster when it dries.
4. Stains on the paint surface.
There are many reasons for stains on the paint surface. For example, the material on the wall is melted by the water in the latex paint and rusted out of the paint surface to form stains, the walls scrubbed with steel wool will produce rust spots, hidden pipe leakage in the wall will also appear stains, and so on. In order to prevent stains, you can first brush a layer of aluminum powder primer, if there are stains, you can first remove the latex paint, brush the aluminum powder primer, and then re-paint.
5.Paint peeling off.
It may be that the surface of the object is too smooth. If the original paint is glossy or powdered (with untreated pigment paint), the new paint will not stick firmly on the surface. Or it may be wood decay or metal rust, or peeling off due to poor paint quality. Small area of paint peeling off, can first be polished with fine sandpaper, and then put on putty, brush primer, and then re-paint. A large area of exfoliation must be scraped off all the paint and repainted.
6. Small animals are carelessly glued to the paint surface.
Often encounter this situation, just painted things are easily glued to insects, mosquitoes and other small animals, at this time to remove them as soon as possible, because the paint is not dry, it is easier to repair, as long as a little paint with a brush can be recovered. If the paint is almost dry, wait until the film is completely hard before wiping off the bug, so as not to make a mess of the smooth surface.
7. Cracks appear on the paint surface.
This kind of situation is also relatively common and easy to deal with. If the crack area of floor paint is relatively large, we mostly use chemical paint remover or hot air spray gun to remove the crack area and then repaint it. If the crack range is not very large, then use a sand grinder or dry-wet sandpaper to touch some water, grind off the broken paint, slowly polish and smooth, apply putty, brush the primer, and repaint.
8.The paint hasn't been dry for a long time.
If the paint is not dry, it must have something to do with indoor ventilation or temperature. Poor ventilation or low temperature will make the paint dry slowly. So all you have to do is open some of the doors and windows to promote ventilation, or you can put a heater in the room to increase the room temperature. If the problem cannot be solved, it is possible that the painted surface is too greasy. At this time, you can use the above-mentioned chemical paint remover or heating method to remove the paint, wipe the surface thoroughly, and then repaint.
To sum up, in the process of epoxy floor construction, the operation must be carried out according to the technical specifications and requirements, in order to ensure the project quality and reduce unnecessary rework.
